Morocco has mountains, coast and clear skies, and paragliding has become one of the best ways to see them. If you have never flown, this guide gathers the essentials.
You will find the types of flight, requirements, preparation and how to choose an operator.
Types of flight
A tandem flight is for people with no experience: a licensed pilot flies and you enjoy the view. Courses teach you to fly yourself, with paragliding from age 16 and paramotor from age 18.
Tandem options range from a standard flight to premium, discovery, acrobatic, birthday and sunset flights.
Requirements
For tandem flights the minimum age is 6, the weight limit is 100 kg and minors need authorisation from a parent or guardian. You do not need to be athletic, only able to walk or run a few steps at take-off.
When to go
Spring and autumn are comfortable, summer is best early or late in the day, and winter has short days with clear views. Weather on the day decides.
What to bring
Closed shoes, layered clothing, sunglasses, sun protection and water. Helmet and harness are provided.
Choosing an operator
Look for certified pilots, included insurance, clear information and willingness to cancel when conditions are not right.
